CSIM – Chennai
CSIM was formally inaugurated by Ms Sudha Murthy of Infosys Foundation in Chennai on July 15th, 2001. The one-year full time Post Graduate Diploma in Social Initiative and Management (PGDSIM) was launched on August 15th, 2001 and the four-month part-time Social Entrepreneurship Outlook Programme (SEOP) on March 4th 2006.
CSIM Impact – Chennai
- 357 socially conscious individuals oriented to the concept of social entrepreneurship
- 42 individuals launched social enterprises across Tamil Nadu on completion of the course
- 130 NGOs are adopting social entrepreneurial practices in Tamil Nadu. Over 50% of them are rural NGOs working for the empowerment of their villages
- 118 NGO staff implemented new strategies in their organizations
- 23 differently abled change agents
- 19 transgender entrepreneurs started 6 social enterprises
- 15 homemakers are involved in social causes
- Over 23 women Self Help Group leaders launched innovative enterprises for their women groups
